Evolutor is a 2d tug of war mobile game for android. The game is meant to be played with two players each playing on opposing sides of the screen.
The main goal of the game is to destroy the other players planet for victory.
The game has creates a lot of strategy. The player can spawn different types of units each with there own strengths and weaknesses.
For my role I took full art responsibilities as well as Game Design choices. I choose the art style. The creative lead was in deciding the different upgraded ages was also conceived by me. I took inspiration from a similar game.
I also decided the functionality of each unit and their mechanics. The power ups and their abilities were also designed by me.

The play style is largely inspired by a similar game which uses evolution's to get more power units. So I also decided to add "evolution's or ages" upgrades but only upgrading the units respectively not add news ones to each new age. This made the game more simplistic and also easy for any causal user. When a player has acquired enough points he can make the decision to progress to the next age.
This makes his units stronger, prompting the opposing player to quickly go to the next age as well.
Every new evolution makes also the player units yield more points - thus making the opposing player attain points faster in the process.

To make the game as balanced as possible. I used a RPS or a Rock Paper Scissor method to make the game easy to tweak.
As seen below the melee unit is weak against the tank but strong against the ranged unit.

Slow-mo mode
There are different power ups for each applicable new age in the game.
Rage mode boast all your units on the field. This can be used quite effectively if want to have a strong advantage in the beginning stages of the game.
Defense mode provides your units with an extra health to withstand more damage. A great mode that helps you hold the line as long as possible.
Slow-mo mode provides the enemy units with a lower speed. This would a good power to slow the enemy advance when you want to take as much ground as possible.
